The intention behind writing this article is that every common person and all should make their life journey successful by realizing  Ananda and Atmananda. Dr. Swami Hardas is the inventor of this pious and precious method under the unique system Swami Hardas Life System who has taken utmost care and is considered safe for the practitioner. Here, we have explained two methods i.e. Religious and Non-religious, both the methods are result-oriented. Siddha Spirituality For Health considers this unique meditation useful. Hence please read carefully and start practicing Ananda meditation and experiencing Ananda instantly.

Ananda meditation Meaning

One reaches to Atmananda by developing happiness, peace, and Ananda. Coordination of the body, organs, mind, and soul (Atman) is most important. This all is within our body, searching it outside of the body is useless. Parmatma’s (the Supreme Soul) real form is only Atmananda. Humans, being Jeevatma (living creature) is a part of that Parmatma. Hence, a human can attain to that Parmatma, whether he/she may be a believer or non-believer.

What is Ananda meditation

To understand Ananda meditation well, please read the article carefully so that practice is made easy. You need to understand it’s basics so that the results are achieved on the spot.

Philosophy for the attainment of Atmananda

Without bringing any thought in the mind, do the Ananda meditation for the attainment of Ananda.

(1) Atmananda  =   Atman + Ananda

Atman – is immortal and is a part of Parmatma.

Hence, Atmananda means everlasting happiness, the happiness full of Parmatma.

(2) All the founders of religions, gods, saints, etc are the part of Parmatma.

(3) All of them have shown the path of attainment of Parmatma based on their realization for the welfare of humanity.

(4) The meditation performed according to any religion, attainment of Parmatma is possible, and Atmananda means everlasting Ananda, and only Ananda is realized and experienced.

(5) Realization/experiencing Atmananda and the attainment of Parmatma are possible even if any meditation of any religion is performed by any person belonging to any religion.

(6) Attainment of Parmatma is possible even if any person of any religion wears any clothes of any religion.

(7) Most important is that whether believer or non-believer, maybe religious or non-religious, still any kind of person can realize Ananda, Atmananda, and attain Parmatma as they too are Jeevatma and are part of Parmatma can easily reach to Parmatma. They accept this fact or not, this is the highest truth and quite easy. Try this and see the results yourself.

The human body and Koshas

As a matter of fact, a human being has only one body, it has been divided into three parts:

  • Gross Body (Sthool Sharir)
  • Subtle Body (Sukshma Sharir), and
  • Causal Body (Karan Sharir).

Sthool Sharir (Gross Body)

The body made of bones, muscles, skin is known as Gross Body. All the actions of the body are performed with these but the power behind the action is not of these parts but is of Subtle Body. The Gross Body is only visible and it’s actions too.  It is necessary to have a healthy body because the journey of life can go smoothly. The movements of the body are necessary for making it healthy, which is called physical exercise. There is a need for a body for religious realizations/experiences. Since there is a Gross Body, it has support from Subtle and Causal bodies. Meditation is only possible with the support of the Gross Body. The feeding of Gross Body is with the food (Anna) and hence it is known as Annamay Kosha.

Sukshma Sharir (Subtle Body)

Controlling all the actions of the body, mind, intellect, breathing, feeling happy or sad, emotions, disorder, illness, planning, decision making, and all other similar things, etc is performed by a Subtle, which cannot be seen but gets it to happen and hence it is known as Subtle Body. There are 03 Koshas (sheath) of the Subtle Body:

  • Pranmay Kosha by which, heart functions, breathing is performed, all the actions are done automatically for staying alive and most of such things are beyond the control of a human.
  • Manomay Kosha consists of mind, intellect, and ego. The function of the mind is emotions, happiness, sorrow, etc and the function of the intellect is memory.
  • Vigyanmay Kosha has the ability to hold the truth, good energy, and get things to happen in a true spirit. All these 03 Koshas have the capacity to make the future of a person.

Karan Sharir (Causal Body)

There is happiness and only happiness everywhere. It is the form of Parmatma (the Supreme Soul). The same is known as Anandmay Kosha means realizing Ananda and experiencing Atmananda.

Specialties of the Human body and Koshas

Sthool Sharir (Gross Body)

The feeding and development of this are through the food and it leaves the effects accordingly over the Kosha. Hence, adding good food in our daily meals is always beneficial for the following reasons:

(1) Eating a few food items is harmful.

(2) The effects of good food (Satwik Meal) are always beneficial.

(3) Parmatma has made a human, vegetarian hence it is best and beneficial to have vegetarian food as per the rules of the universe.

(4) The gross body should be healthy and mighty; the resistance power should be powerful because the chances of falling sick are very less.

Normally, the energy travels from Annamay Kosha to Pranmay Kosha, then Pranmay Kosha to Manomay Kosha, and then from Manomay Kosha to Vigyanmay Kosha and at last from Vigyanmay Kosha to Anandmay Kosha hence the effects received by Annamay Kosha reach straight up to Anandmay Kosha. It affects all the other Koshas accordingly.

Proper food, proper control is the key to health. Follow this so that life can be made successful.

Sukshma Sharir (Subtle Body)

  • Pranmay Kosha: Annamay Kosha affects the Pranmay Kosha, which ultimately affects Manomay Kosha, and Manomay Kosha affects the Vigyanmay Kosha, which ultimately affects the Anandmay Kosha. It is necessary to control the breath for making Pranmay Kosha strong and sturdy.
  • Manomay Kosha: All other Koshas affect Manomay Kosha. Hence, it is necessary to control the mind for the development of Manomay Kosha. To control the mind is very difficult hence it is necessary to keep it busy in some good work e.g. moments of happiness, Manaspooja’(imaginary worship), good music, etc, which is achieved with regular practice.
  • Vigyanmay Kosha: It is a follower of truth and shows the right path. Its development is through purificatory rites. The virtuous company, reading of holy books, etc is of most importance.

Karan Sharir (Causal Body)

This means Anandmay Kosha, which is a form of Parmatma. It affects all other bodies (Gross, Subtle) hence virtually all the Koshas are affected.

Care for Ananda meditation

(1) Please remember that the energy travels from Annamay Kosha to Anandmay Kosha covering all the Bodies, Organs, Mind and Atman, etc.

(2) All the ‘Bodies’ and Koshas are not well-coordinated, balanced or negativity exists then it should be understood that the process of making them proper has begun, and as a result heaviness may be felt or might be minor troubles felt. On such occasions touch the ground with both the hands for almost 5 to 10 minutes for earthing, the trouble will gradually reduce. Siddha Extractor (Siddha Product) also can be used by which there will be proper coordination and balancing, negativity will get removed, all the problems will get solved and you will attain Atmananda and life journey will be most pleasing and successful.

Purification process

The purification process of all the Koshas of the body starts only when a person realizes Ananda, which hardly needs 15 minutes.

To understand the process, first, try to understand the following where it has been explained that the body is divided into three parts:

  • Gross Body (Sthool Sharir)
  • Subtle Body (Sukshma Sharir)
  • Causal Body (Atisukshma Sharir)

Every Body or Sharir consists of 05 Koshas which includes:

  • Annamay Kosha
  • Pranmay Kosha
  • Manomay Kosha
  • Vigyanmay Kosha
  • Anandmay Kosha through which, a practitioner reaches the level of realizing Atmananda.

Those, who do not experience Atmananda in one attempt, they may need to practice this exercise regularly.

The flow of ‘converted energy’ is through Koshas of the body. The converted energy flows step by step from Annamay Kosha to Pranmay Kosha and from Pranmay Kosha to Manomay Kosha and from Manomay Kosha to Vigyanmay Kosha and from Vigyanmay Kosha to Anandmay Kosha, because of which the Sthool Sharir, Sukshma Sharir, and Karan Sharir totally gets purified and make all the 5 Koshas free from all the faults (Dosha), become most powerful and at last they get merged with Anandmay Kosha, which means Ananda (ultimate happiness) – the real form of Parmatma.

Reasons for consideration of Koshas

When Koshas are considered, at that time the whole world is considered, the reasons are as follows:

(1) Human (consists of 5 Koshas):

  • Annamay Kosha
  • Pranmay Kosha
  • Manomay Kosha
  • Vigyanmay Kosha
  • Anandmay Kosha

(2) Animals (consists of 3 Koshas):

  • Annamay Kosha
  • Pranmay Kosha
  • Manomay Kosha

(3) Trees, Plant, Grass, Climbing Plant, etc (consists of 2 Koshas):

  • Annamay Kosha
  • Pranmay Kosha

(4) Soil, Stone, Minerals (consists of 1 Kosha):

  • Annamay Kosha

Human is most fortunate that he is made of 5 most precious Koshas means when compared to the animals (living creatures), he has been bestowed with additional 2 Koshas i.e. Vigyanmay Kosha and Anandmay Kosha, which help him/her realize and achieve Ananda – Atmananda and Parmatma, which is not possible for animals, trees, plants and inanimate to realize or achieve Atmananda and Parmatma.

The same meditation is named as Ananda meditation and has been brought out in detail with 2 different methods i.e. religious and non-religious for the conveyance of different categories of the people. The intention is that no one should be left aloof from this unique Ananda and Atmananda.

Method of Ananda meditation: Religious method

Purpose

The main purpose of this unique Ananda meditation is to get the realization of Ananda and to purify Koshas i.e. Annamay Kosha, Pranmay Kosha, Manomay Kosha, Vigyanmay Kosha, Anandmay Kosha of three Sharir (Bodies) i.e. Sthool (Gross), Sukshma (Subtle), Karan (Causal) and achieve health, peace and everlasting peace throughout the life.

How to perform Ananda meditation: Religious method

(1) Sit straight on a ground, chair, or lie down on a bed in a comfortable position.

(2) Look into the ‘Shaktidata Photo’ of Dr. Swami Hardas and say Sankalp three times, “Siddha Swami Give Me Siddha Shakti and Get My Ananda meditation Completed Successfully. (सिद्ध स्वामी, सिद्ध शक्ति दीजिये और मेरा आनंद ध्यान सफल करवा लीजिये).

(3) Close the eyes, touch both the hands on the ground or metal portion of the chair or wall and say Sankalp three times, “All the bad energies, obstacles on the way of my Ananda meditation from my body should go in the ground.” (मेरे शरीर की सारी बूरी शक्तियां और रुकावटे जमिन मैं चली जाएँ).

(4) By this time, Annamay Kosha of Sthool Body becomes calm and latent.

(5) Start breathing as it is usually taken during the sleep and maintain it throughout. It will be realized that Pranmay Kosha of Sukshma Body is getting calm and latent.

During this precious period of experiencing Ananda, your all three bodies (Sthool, Sukshma, Causal) gets purified along with all the Koshas  (Annamay – Pranmay – Manomay – Vigyanmay and Anandmay), resulting in achieving health, peace and everlasting happiness.

Method of Ananda meditation: Non-religious method

Some people may not believe God or the existence of Divine Power but they definitely believe self, mother, father, or believe their own existence. Such persons also can realize and get unique experiences of Ananda meditation as they too are human – Jeevatma, a part of Parmatma.

Purpose

The main purpose of this unique Ananda meditation is to get the realization of Ananda and to purify all the Koshas (Annamay Kosha, Pranmay Kosha, Manomay Kosha, Vigyanmay Kosha, and Anandmay Kosha) of three Sharir (Bodies) i.e. Sthool (Gross), Sukshma (Subtle), Karan (Causal) and achieve health, peace and everlasting peace throughout the life.

Material required

Asana (any bed sheet or mattress etc for sitting over) or chair for those, who cannot sit on ground or bed for a patient who can lie on it.

How to perform Ananda meditation: Non-religious method

(1) Sit straight on a ground, chair, or lie down on a bed in a comfortable position.

(2) Close the eyes, touch both the hands on the ground or metal portion of the chair or wall and say Sankalp three times, “All the bad energies, obstacles on the way of my Ananda meditation from my body should go in the ground.” (मेरे शरीर की सारी बूरी शक्तियां और रुकावटे जमिन मैं चली जाएँ).

(3) By this time, Annamay Kosha of Sthool Body becomes calm and latent.

(4) Start breathing as it is usually taken during the sleep and maintain it throughout. It will be realized that Pranmay Kosha of Sukshma Body is getting calm and latent.

(5) Hereafter concentrate on ‘mind’ and during the process – feel that the small child is in front of you and he is smiling and you too are pleased and smiling, allow to have this feeling for few minutes approximately, which means Manomay Kosha and Vigyanmay Kosha of Sukshma Body is getting calm and latent. Do it repeatedly.

(6) Within a few minutes, you will start realizing Ananda, which means, you have started your journey in Anandmay Kosha of Causal Body, which is the condition when you get lost in a different world forgetting self and surroundings.

(7) After almost 15 minutes, open eyes slowly.

During the precious period of experiencing Ananda, your body (Sthool, Sukshma, Causal) gets purified along with all the Koshas (Annamay – Pranmay – Manomay, Vigyanmay, and Anandmay), resulting in achieving health, peace and everlasting happiness.

Guidelines for Ananda meditation

  • Ananda meditation should not be continued for more than 15 minutes.
  • If some people do not wish to come out of the Ananda, they should do Sankalp after the 2nd step (mentioned above) and Ananda meditation should not be continued after 15 minutes from experiencing the Ananda.
  • It can be practiced every day, 4 – 5 times a day, which will help gain immediate effects and results.
  • Ananda meditation, if practiced together by family members, it helps gain more benefits.
  • This, if practiced by a group of people in a place, it helps purify the place, as well as, individual benefits to each person.
  • Ananda meditation performed for self is limited to realizing Ananda. One needs to be Satvaguni and not Rajoguni or Tamoguni. In the absence of Satvaguna, the life journey will be incomplete. The ultimate purpose of each and every person should be reaching the Atmananda state.
