Siddha Marg of Swami Hardas Life System invented by Dr. Swami Hardas is the graceful divine form of the great scientific and spiritual heritage of India and hence is most suitable for the persons born and brought up with Indian Culture or for the persons who believe in it. Siddha Marg Philosophy

The last truth is only one

This universe and everything within it i.e. ‘you’, ‘me’, and all things are His Almighty’s fraction/part, and hence all are brothers. So it is vital that an increase in brotherhood and love is of most importance.

Last truth as per Siddha Marg

The last truth means “only Happiness – ultimate Happiness” and that is the reason every living creature is naturally attracted towards ‘happiness’, ‘peace’, and ‘ultimate Happiness’. So while imparting happiness, peace, and ultimate happiness to self and same to others, a motto gets automatically fulfilled and leads to ‘ultimate happiness’, which is the only everlasting truth.

Shivshakti

This universe means the combination of ‘man’ and ‘nature’ (Shivshakti), which is well balanced and is a mixture of both. Man being ‘sthool’ is only ‘happiness’ but ‘nature’ works continuously round the clock and is full of ‘Chaitanya’.

Vasana Shakti

The ‘Vasana Shakti’ is the main reason for birth, which takes us away from ‘ultimate happiness’, ‘everlasting truth’, ‘God’, whereas ‘Sharda Shakti’ leads to ‘ultimate happiness’, ‘everlasting truth’ and ‘God’. So discard ‘Vasana Shakti’ and develop ‘Sharda Shakti’.

Limited powers of human beings

The powers of human beings are limited. There is an utmost need for supernatural powers, help, and cooperation. Those, who give these, are called ‘Devta’ (God). God is always ready to give but how it is to be asked and accepted is required to be learned in an effective and easy manner. ‘Siddha Marg’ has this to its credit and hence is a great way.

Unlimited powers of God

The powers of God activate according to work and give sweet fruits to our efforts.  Hence, if surrendered to those powers for a particular work, fulfillment of desires, the work gets completed and desires get fulfilled. The names of Gods and their working objectives are appended below as a few examples:

• Hanumanta: Power and ‘Bhakti’ (Devotion)
• Saraswati: Wisdom, Knowledge
• Mahalakshmi: Wealth
• Vishnu: Prosperity  
• Shiva: Knowledge, Ability, Moksha, etc.

This is known to everyone as being a truth of mythology but we are mostly confused and don’t get proper answers to the questions e.g. ‘what’, ‘when’, ‘how’. Siddha Marg has the right answers to all such questions and hence it is easy and great.

Favorable powers in the universe

The most favorable powers in the universe are ‘Mother’, ‘Father’ then ‘Guru’, and others. These are our materialistic Mother, Father, and Guru whose orders may be followed for obtaining their blessings and serving them. They, being human, may have certain weaknesses but instead, you look at their weakness, try to find the way out, and honor their selfless and constant efforts of favor like ‘favoritism’, ‘selflessness’ and ‘sacrifice’ etc.

Likewise, apart from materialistic ‘mother’, ‘father’, ‘guru’ etc; every family also has a spiritual Mother, Father, Guru, and Devta. They had been looking after our family for many years, which are known as ‘Kulswamini’, ‘Kuldevta’ and ‘Kulguru’. We are their illiterate children, surrender them, ultimately they only can look after well and make us prosperous. This philosophy is the basic foundation of Siddha Marg and hence it is quite effective and favorable. 

Gundharma as per Siddha Marg

Everything in this universe has its own characteristics i.e. Gundharma = Gun + Dharma. There are three ‘Gun’ i.e. ‘Satva’, ‘Raj’, ‘Tam’. ‘Dharma’ = Dha + Ra + Ma mean when followed and lost in them, man becomes great. The effects of them altogether are as follows: 

• Satva Gun: Achievement of Sharda Shakti, Progress and Happiness.
• Rajo Gun: Achievement of Sharda Vasana, Co-ordination of energy,  Materialistic conflicts, Re-birth after death, and Re-death after birth.
• Tamo Gun: Achievement of Vasana, Loss of goodness.

Which are the 09 Gundharmas?

We are ‘Manav’ (human), which means 09 Gundharmas are ‘manya’ (acceptable) to us. Out of many appearances of ‘Sharda Shakti’, 09 Gundharmas are as follows: 

• Satya (Truth),
• Prema (Love),
• Vidhya (Knowledge),        
• Ahinsa, Kchamasheelta (Non-Violence, Forgiveness),
• Aarogya Rakshan (Protection of Health),
• Sadsadvivek Buddhi (Intellectuality),
• Anasakti (Detachment, Sacrifice),
• Nigraha (Obstruction / Restrain), and
• Dhairya (Courage).

Vasana Shakti

Vasana Shakti (Power of Desire) works in many ways. Among them, if we go by ‘shadripoos’ (six enemies), we lose our willpower. If we are lost in them, it results in unbalancing and then we become victims of loss of health, conflicts, tension, selfishness, greediness, disrespect failures, etc. 

Shadripoos as per Siddha Marg

These ‘shadripoos’ are known as ‘Kama’ (Sexuality), ‘Krodha’ (Anger), ‘Lobha’  (Greed), ‘Moha’ (Affection), ‘Mad’ (Proudness), and ‘Matsara’ (Hate).

The standard of a person based on ‘Vasana Shakti’ is classified as follows:

• Samanya (Common): Those who accept these six ‘shadripoos’.
• Sadharan (General): Those who adopt these six ‘ shadripoos’.
• Sagyan (Knowledgeable): Those who have knowledge of these six ‘shadripoos’.
• Samarth (Able): Those who understand the meaning and use of these six ‘shadripoos’ favorably for welfare.
• Sadhoo (Sage): Those who have made these six ‘shadripoos’ adhoo (handicapped).
• Sant (Saint): Those who have made the end of these six ‘shadripoos’. Saint is greater than God and even God is always at their service.

Meaning of word – Siddha

What does ‘Siddha’ means? Siddha is His Almighty who is kind and His energy is easily conceivable being favorable to self and others.

What everybody should do? The formula is within the ‘Siddha’. Siddha = Sa + Ei + Dha + Da word. What does it mean is explained below:

• Sa: Adopt and follow good conduct (Sadachar),
• Ei: Perform Sadhana (Eist Sadhana),
• Dha: Do Business, Trade, Profession, Service as possible as with honesty, and
• Da: Control your ‘Indriya’ (Continence).

Sadachar

What does ‘Sadachar’ (Good Conduct) mean? The formula is within the ‘Sadachar’ (Sa + Da + Cha + Ra) word. The answer to this question is as follows:

• Sa: Satyata (Truth),
• Da: Daitva (Responsibility),
• Cha: Charitra (Character), and
• Ra: Rakshan (Security).

‘Sadachar’ means co-ordination of all these above. ‘Eist Sadhana’ means a sadhana due to which we become able to attain our desires and welfare. ‘Aatmaparikshan’ (introspection) means we must mediate for all the above-mentioned facts and correct ourselves as necessary.

Why Aatmaparikshan?

Who are we? What are our responsibilities? What are we? When, how and what should we do? How do we do it or behaved? We must introspect ourselves at all these levels. Whatever wrong we committed, we must request God for forgiveness and make efforts not to repeat those mistakes in the future. While imparting happiness, peace, a pleasure to others, we must reach our goal and receive ultimate pleasure.

Remember this is the only way to serve better to mankind.

What is Shraddhasthan?

There is a limit to human intellectuality and capacity. Learn to develop intellectuality and capacity so that they are used effectively. Therefore it is important to have confidence in the Specialists, wise persons of those fields. Learn from their intellectuality, experiences and keep in mind for which Holy Granthas also prove useful.

What is Guru?

Guru (Gu + Ru), which means Gu = guna of God and Ru = Rupa. Guru teaches about God-related things and makes us wise and able. Such Gurus are as follows:

• Mother, Father: They are the first Gurus.
• Vidhya Guru: Those who teach us the art of living life.
• Deeksha Guru: Those who train and impart knowledge for spiritual development.

Who should be the Sadguru?

Sadguru is complete in knowledge and possesses the capacity of making their disciples perfect. It is very difficult to identify such Guru and hence one should not unnecessarily go in their search. Keep continuing efforts for leading successful life with the help of guidance from your Deeksha Guru and study the Holy Granthas.

The moment you reach the required level, Sadguru will automatically meet you. Many times your Deeksha Guru could also prove Sadguru. This can be experienced. 

Sharanagati

It is important to surrender Guru, God with pure thoughts. This is the first and most important step for achieving self-welfare.

Aatmanivedan as per Siddha Marg

It means to confess Guru, God everything about self. Request apologies for the mistake committed and ask for power, ability so that the mistakes do not occur in the future. We must thank Guru; God for the good work that got done through us. Tell them all about your karma, happiness, sorrows, and request for guidance to live a successful life.

What is Nam Sadhana?

It means to continuously recite the name of God with meditation remembering His Swaroopa. This ‘Japa’ can be recited within the mind even while sitting, walking, doing work, or going for sleep. It is not necessary to follow prevailing rules or restrictions. This is selfless ‘Bhakti’ (devotion). Siddhapeethadheeshwar Swami Hardas gives ‘Divya Mantra’ to Volunteers and Deekshit for the achievement of ‘ultimate happiness’. Many Gurus give such ‘mantras’ to their disciples.

Why Mantra Sadhana?

Mantras of Gods are given based on the work for the fulfillment of desire and getting peace. While reciting Japa, ‘Siddha Dhoop’ or ‘Agarbatti’ may be lit and then start reciting the Japa. Try to recite maximum Japa by sitting at one place with meditation remembering His Swaroopa; rest can be recited while doing work, walking, sitting, etc. Desire must be repeated in between while Japa is recited.

It is best to complete at least 1.25 lakh ‘Japas’ or 1 Crore within the stipulated period as convenient. The same ‘Mantra’ can be written and recited simultaneously, which is the best way of Mantra Sadhana. ‘Deeksha Mantra’ is part of ‘Mantra Sadhana’ because we become capable of favoring ourselves and others. 

How to write Mantra?: Siddha Marg Method

It is best to write the mantra of your choice or mantra given by Guru during ‘Deeksha’. The following information with regard to Mantra writing is important:

• While writing, recite ‘mantra’.
• Handwriting should be clear; words should be small and as laid down.
• Symbol of full stop used in languages like Sanskrit, Hindi must be used while writing, in the beginning, and at the end of each ‘mantra’.
• The mantra should not be written half in one line and remaining on the second line of the notebook or register etc.

The specific gap must be maintained every after 108 ‘mantra’ written and desire is repeated in mind or even written.

How the place of worship should be?

It is paramount to have a specific place for worship in the house for performing ‘sadhana’ or offering ‘prayer’. Everybody in the house, as per choice, should perform some ‘sadhana’ or ‘prayer’. Whenever it is feasible, all the members of the family should sit together and perform ‘sadhana’, recite ‘Siddha Mantra’ or ‘Japa’ and ‘Siddha Prayer’ or ‘Siddha Kalyan Sadhana’ collectively.

How to choose the place of worship?

The place of worship should be selected and decided, as far as feasible, according to the following guidelines:

The direction of the worshiper

The place/temple should be facing to West direction so that while offering prayer or performing sadhana, the worshiper will be facing East, which is a symbol of ‘arising’ and energy of prosperity. Everybody needs energy for prosperity. If it is difficult to maintain the directions, then the place/temple can be facing to South direction so that the worshiper can sit facing North.

Height of the temple

The height of the place/temple should be approximately 4 feet above the ground so that everybody is able to easily take ‘darshana’ even while standing, walking, moving in the room, or around the house.

Idols of Gods/Goddesses

In a place of worship, beautiful idols of ‘Kulswamini’, ‘Kuldevta’, approximately 9 cm in height, ‘Paduka’ of ‘Kulguru’ and or ‘Guru’ should be accommodated. These idols and ‘Paduka’ should be made ‘Siddha’ before accommodating them in a place of worship. The place/temple should be very neat and clean, attractive and suitable.

The beautiful and attractive photographs (having the look of live image) of Gods, Guru or Saints of your choice may be placed in such way in the house so that everybody can have their ‘darshana’ while moving, walking, standing so that we are reminded to continue our ‘sadhana’, ‘Japa’ or ‘meditation’ without break. The place of worship/temple should not be accommodated with plenty of idols/photographs of Gods. 

Note: Those who are unable to maintain the place of worship as described above due to some inevitable reasons, can place the framed photographs of their Devta, Kulguru, Guru, and Saint.

How to cook food with the Siddha Marg method?

Vegetarian food is the best. Food is ‘Poorna Brahma’ (Complete Brahma), which should be chewed well and should not be eaten full stomach. Whatever is cooked may be eaten. There should not be any preference for liking or disliking because the more we express our disliking the mind and body are affected adversely.

Those who eat food with complete satisfaction are proved always mighty and healthy. Being a food ‘Poorna Brahma’, the Mantra/Sadhana/Name of God’ should be continuously recited while cooking and eating the food. It is best to have food altogether with family members.

Why exercise is so important?

It is very essential to do exercises. The exercise of ‘jumping over the rope’ is best. Do jump for 30 seconds continuously and rest for 60 seconds. Repeat this 3 / 4 times. Everyone should do this exercise at least 3 to 4 times a day.

Another best exercise is to run on the spot for 03 minutes on toes. Routine work imparts benefits to only certain parts of the body hence ‘Shavasana’, pronunciation of ‘Om’ and ‘Manaspooja’ can be added to your routine activities. However, for performing ‘Surya Namaskara’ or other exercises, the experts should be consulted.

What is Gruhasthashram?

It means family life. It is the best since the whole universe is running because of ‘Gruhasthashram’ (homestead). Gruhasthashram has the unique capacity of creating the world of tomorrow.

Union of man and woman

Woman and Man, both are the wheels of a cart. It is therefore necessary to have both wheels of equal shape and size. It is necessary for both of them to run with their own directions. If one wheel tries to run on the path of another, it will not be possible for a cart to run hence everyone should be aware of his or her way and limitations. The link between the two wheels should be strong enough with a better combination of behaviour, love, respect, understanding, family, society, etc.

Love, Forgiveness, and Sacrifice

Forgiveness, Love, Sacrifice is the jewels of human valuation. The importance of ‘Matrudevobhav’ and ‘Pitrudevobhav’ is so high that the place at which level ‘Matru’ (mother) and ‘Pitru’ (father) are required to understand properly. We must try to behave accordingly and also must develop our children based on this morality.

Siddha Marg: Important tips to be practiced 

Must wake up early in the morning

Wake up early in the morning remembering God, greet the land, finish all morning activities and offer your prayer, perform Sadhana, Abhishek, Japa or recite Mantra (the way it is possible) after lighting ‘Siddha Stabilizer’ or ‘Agarbatti’ sitting in front of your place of worship. In the end, recite ‘Siddha Prayer’. or Siddha Kalyan Sadhana.

Perform ‘Mantra Sadhana’, ‘Naam Sadhana’ by remembering God the whole day and every day. 

Recite Siddha Prayer or Siddha Kalyan Sadhana

It is best to light ‘Siddha Stabilizer’ and ‘Siddha Deep’ at the time of sunset. Recite ‘Mantra’ or ‘Japa’ along with all the members of the family and collectively recite ‘Siddha Prayer’ or ‘Siddha Kalyan Sadhana’.

Perform Manaspooja

Perform ‘Shavasana’, recite ‘Om’, perform ‘Manaspooja’ and ‘Self-revelation’ while going to bed for sleeping. This kind of sleep is very much favorable.

Do meditation

‘Siddha Sadhana’, ‘Upasana’ is very much favorable. Necessary guidance must be obtained for their adoption and performance. Meditation, Surrendering, Self-revelation, Siddha Prayer, Siddha Kalyan Sadhana are of utmost importance. Make ‘Deeksha Guru’, do not involve yourself in making ‘Sadguru’, you will automatically get him after ‘Sadhana’ reaches the required level.

Perform duties and responsibilities

We are common (Gruhasthashrami) familiarized people. Our initial duty is to run the family in the best manner, fulfill our duties and responsibilities accordingly. The existence of God is to be always felt while discharging these duties and responsibilities.

‘Naam Sadhana’, ‘Mantra Sadhana’, ‘Upasana’ etc should be performed as per the availability of time. There is no restriction of the period, time, or place for performing these ‘Sadhana’. God is available all the time and at all the places. Have this positive thinking.

God exists in everything

The restrictions like urinating, toileting, monthly cycle, and birth-death should not be observed for their impurities. These are the acts and facts of nature, which are responsible for the purification of the body and hence are always good. Try to learn to look at everything positively. Continue your ‘Sadhana’ during all such periods because God exists in everything, which should be realized.

Observe cleanliness

If the floor is wet or cold, use carpet or ‘asana’ for performing required Sadhana, Upasana, etc. There should be sufficient air and light in the room, place of worship, or temple. It is necessary to maintain cleanliness and neatness.

Removal of the fear

Do not have any fear for ‘Pooja’, ‘Sadhana’ and ‘Upasana’. Mother – Father, Guru, God are always kind and loving. Even if any mistake is committed, there will not be any wrong effect or trouble. Removal of the fear from the mind is important.

Visiting holy places

Perform the ‘Sadhana’ daily as much as possible. Special ‘Sadhana’, to be performed and ‘Darshana’ to be taken as per situation at least once in a week, a month or at least 2 / 3 times in a year by visiting Holy Places. 

Build a better understanding

Behave with family members in such a manner so that better understanding is maintained, liking, love, kindness remains on the highest level. It is always better to sit together for Meals, Worship, Prayers, Sadhana and Upasana, etc.

Observe the rules and practices according to your basic religion. Some of the wrong things can be corrected so that purity is developed and success achieved.

Learn to control anger

Have control over anger and arrogance. Anger is a weakness but people think of it as a strength. In actuality, the person who does not display anger has more inner strength than the one who displays it. First, the sparks set you on fire and then you burn others. So, that fire not only hurts you but hurts others as well.

Avoid craziness

Don’t be crazy for ‘Kanchan’ (Money), ‘Kamini’ (Woman), and ’Kirti’ (Distinction). They are the main factors that ruin, destroy a person completely.

Siddha Marg: Upasana Methods

Jewels of God

Happiness, Love, Peace, Worship is part of Upasana. They are the jewels of God who in turn gives us the same unlimitedly and unconditionally. God is very kind and loving who acts in the form of ‘Matrushakti’, ‘Pitrushakti’, ‘Gurushakti’, and many other forms, favoring us all the time.

Following things emerge when traditional aspects about father, forefathers, etc are thought of:

• Kulswamini: She is a spiritual mother of our family who is and feeds us.
• Kuldevta: He is a spiritual father of our family who feeds us.
• Kulguru: He is a spiritual Kulguru of our family who shows us the truthful way, makes us prosperous and able.
• Eist Devta: He is a God of our family’s liking and is a favorable power that cares all of us all the way.
• Other Devta: They are the Gods of our family like relatives and favor us all the time.

Gods are part of our family

Above all Gods are part of our family; we are their illiterate children, really we are illiterate. They put all their efforts to favour us. They are always ready to give but we should learn how to take from them. Try to put the truth in front of you and think over it so that a clear idea will emerge.

Learn to appreciate

A small child jumps here and there, rolls awkwardly on the floor, tilts different ways, and talks continuously indifferently. By seeing this, parents and others pick him with love and appreciate his activities even though they are awkward. There are the reasons for his appreciation, which are as follows:

• Parent’s love towards a child.
• Purity of child’s heart, true faith, sinless act, and ultimate faith.
• Child’s efforts for pleasing parents or others.

The child’s every action is appreciated because of the above and even mistakes committed by the child get converted into appreciation. These factual acts of child teach many things to us e.g. how to surrender to God?; get attached to God?; please God?; live worry less life?; perform ‘Karma’? and experience happiness?

Act like an innocent child

In fact, there is no need to observe restrictions like menstrual periods, time, and prevailing rules. We must act like an innocent child for pleasing God. They do everything possible for children like us.

Have a feeling of the God

It is very essential to get attached to the power of God. It is not of much importance to bother for external acts or things while performing ‘Upasana’. There should be a feeling that the God before us is not a simple idol but is like the live human body, having the internal and eternal feeling that He is accepting our ‘Upasana’ and is blessing us with satisfaction. We must express our desire at the same time and there should be a full faith that our desire will be fulfilled with His grace only.

Need for regular Upasana

There is an acute need for regular ‘Upasana’ for human beings and if possible there should not be any break while performing. Hence the ‘Upasana’ should be continued even when there are situations like ‘menstrual periods’, ‘birth – death’ etc. The important ‘Upasana’ are as follows: 

• Pooja (Worship),
• Abhishek,
• Fasting, and
• Siddha Pooja.

Pooja as per Siddha Marg

Normally there is a custom of using things like Agarbatti (Incense Stick), Flowers, Garland of flowers, Vibhooti (Bhasma), Turmeric Powder, Kumkum, Gulal, Deep, Curd, Water, etc for worshiping God. There is no need to think about which thing is to be offered first or which should be later. Whichever way and whichever time is feasible, worship should be offered with the things available to you. God is hungry for your pure feelings and true faith, which are the only important things. Vibhooti (Bhasma) is important in Siddha Marg. If there are no other things for offering worship, the aim is still achievable. At the end of the worship, Siddha Prayer should be recited.

An offering of the above worship in imaginations (without actual use of the things) is called ‘Manaspooja’. This worship is considered the greatest among all types of worship. Manaspooja is also performed while offering worship from the beginning till the end with reciting the ‘mantra’ of the God whom you regularly offer worship. In this case, the worship should normally last till 108 times the‘ mantra’ of God is recited.

Abhishek as per Siddha Marg

While doing Abhishek, the idol of God must be washed with clean water and cleaned with a clean and soft cloth. Normally there is a custom of using ‘Abhishek Pot’ and ‘Plate’ for performing ‘Abhishek’. It should be assured that while offering ‘Abhishek’, a minimum of 108 times mantra of that God should be recited along with the worship offered. The holy water collected in a deep plate may be used as ‘Teerth’ and the remaining holy water for cooking. ‘Panchamrut’ i.e. mixer of water and curd etc, is not used in Siddha Marg.

Fasting as per Siddha Marg

Upavas means fasting, which is observed for being close to God. The required changes in your daily routine should be made to avail the best opportunity for performing God-related activities so that we remember Him continuously. The changes in daily routine mean, the change of food, which we normally eat daily, increase in mantra for reciting, visit to temple for ‘darshana’. Those who are affected with addiction should not go for addiction, which will be the real fasting for the addicted person. Even the bad words like tobacco, cigarette, gutka, pan masala, bidi, wine, race; cards play, etc should not be used.

Siddha Pooja as per Siddha Marg

Perform ‘Abhishek’ of our ‘Kulswamini’, ‘Kuldevta’, ‘Guru’, ‘Kulguru’, ‘Eist Devta’ and other important ‘Devta’ as above. Place of worship may be decorated, recite Mantra continuously, read ‘Siddha Gurukrupamrut Pothi’ and recite ‘Siddha Prayer’. ‘Siddha Pooja’ has been explained in detail in ‘Siddha Gurukrupamrut Pothi’. Everyone should perform this ‘Siddha Pooja’ at least twice a year so that Health, Peace, and Progress are achieved and maintained.

Reading Siddha Pothi in Siddha Marg 

Whenever possible and get time ‘Pothi’ must be read. It is not necessary that ‘Pothi’ should be read continuously at a stretch. Desire should be repeated thrice with the folded hands at the beginning, on completion of every chapter of the Pothi, and at the end of reading the ‘Pothi’. In the end, surrender Him with folded hands.

Darshana method in Siddha Marg 

While going for ‘darshana’ to the temple or for ‘darshana’ of a saint to an ashram or any holy place, reciting of ‘Mantra’ of that particular God within mind should be to the maximum extent while going and coming back after ‘darshana’.

For example, you have planned to go to Ganesh Temple. Start reciting the ‘II Om Siddha Ganeshay Namaha II’ mantra and reach the temple. Stand in front of the idol, recite the mantra continuously and try to store the image in mind. Sit in a place from where you can view the idol and recite the mantra of your Guru at least 21 times and then say to God in mind, “I am a disciple of so and so Guru, and I wish to have your darshana”.

Then recite the mantra of God at least 21 times, if time permits then 108 times, and appeal to give darshana. Now stand and go in front of the idol, if permitted touch the feet otherwise touch will all the fingers to the Paduka of the God and look into the eyes of God and close your eyes retaining the image of God in mind and continue appealing for darshana.

Wait for a couple of minutes and you will find that either you get some unique smell or see the feet or any part of God or you may feel some sensation in your fingers or even you may feel as if your body is floating in the air. It means that God has fulfilled your wish and that is called darshana. After feeling this, thank God and while returning home, start reciting the same mantra until you reach and whenever it is feasible to do so, keep doing it regularly.
