Definition of health

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This is the definition of health as per WHO.

The bibliographic citation for this definition is: Preamble to the Constitution of WHO as adopted by the International Health Conference, New York, 19 June – 22 July 1946; signed on 22 July 1946 by the representatives of 61 States (Official Records of WHO, no. 2, p. 100) and entered into force on 7 April 1948. The definition has not been amended since 1948.

Today’s condition of ‘health’ is universally known to all of us. The World Health Organization (W H O) brings out the definition of ‘health’ in the complete meaning as “health is not merely the absence of bodily disease or not only well being at a physical level but also at mental, social and spiritual levels”. However, in reality, it is made possible to some extent for bodily health, to a very minimum extent for social health but nothing is made possible for mental health.

Hence, the question is – are we really meeting the parameters of the definition of ‘health’ as per W H O? How many of us in the world do get ‘health’ in this aspect? Why everyone should not be ‘healthy’? If this is not possible, what is the next alternative?

Alternate sources for the gain of health

Apart from medical science, there are many medicinal alternates available for gaining health e.g. Ayurveda, Homeopathy and non-medicinal therapies e.g. Reiki, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Relaxation therapy, Biofeedback, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Phototherapy, Chronotherapy, Aromatherapy, Balneotherapy, Biofeedback, Chiropractic,  Naturopathy, Reflexology and so on. Everyone’s aim is to help render health to the needy but is unable to fulfill the requirement of Health as per the Health definition as stated by WHO.

As a matter of fact, the benefit of this unique birth will only be achieved in real meaning if we are able to destroy the reasons behind our sorrows in real life, if we are able to fulfill our good desires, if we are able to get health, peace, and progress in real life, if we are able to get ‘Atmananda’. You can very efficiently solve yourself all the problems in your life. It is of most importance that while performing suggested remedies of Siddha Spirituality, one must also try to solve the problems with materialistic remedies because most of the problems occurred can be solved with materialistic efforts.

The right way for the gain of health

Materialistic remedies mean the help, guidance, remedies sought from Doctors, Advocates, Specialists and Professionals of particular fields. Siddha Spirituality remedies mean to get training of Siddha Swami Hardas Life System, which offers service selflessly. Religious remedies mean to apply the remedies (Rituals, Pooja, Sadhana, Homa-Havana etc) according to the religion and faith in which, we believe. These selfsiddha remedies are based on Indian Culture and are performed at Siddha Mandir, Pune (India); some of them have been explained in my articles published time to time, which can be learned and practiced independently at home. Adhyatmik Remedies means Adhyatmik Sadhana and Practices.
