Peace

Definition of peace

Peace is a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when there’s no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. Peace is when people are able to resolve their conflicts without violence and can work together to improve the quality of their lives. So, let us learn free simple methods for ‘how to achieve peace’ without spending money, and without using any medicine.

Existence of peace

Peace is in existence when following suggested few points are invariably followed in its reality:

  • Everyone lives in safety, without fear or threat of violence, and no form of violence is tolerated in law or in practice
  • Everyone is equal before the law, the systems for justice are trusted, and fair and effective laws protect people’s rights
  • Everyone is able to participate in shaping political decisions and the government is accountable to the people
  • Everyone has fair and equal access to the basic needs for their wellbeing – such as food, clean water, shelter, education, healthcare, and a decent living environment
  • Everyone has an equal opportunity to work and make a living, regardless of gender, ethnicity or any other aspect of identity

We should focus on some positive ways to promote peace in our disturbed world. Here are some ideas mentioned below:

  • Make an individual commitment to nonviolence

  • Show a child how to be kind to animals and humans
  • Show a child how to be kind to vulnerable people – the homeless, those with physical or cognitive disabilities, older people, and anyone else that appears different to the child
  • Speak out against prejudice and discrimination when you see it
  • When you feel angry, count to ten with the help of our fingers before saying anything. Then, ask yourself what response will be best for the greater good
  • When you feel slighted, ask yourself if what happened was really about you or if it was about the other person
  • When you realize that it was about the other person, find in your heart some compassion for that person, realizing that he or she is most surely struggling
  • Regard people who hurt your feelings as your personal teachers of how to maintain a peaceful nature
  • If you are a member of a religious community, ask how you can get more involved in promoting peace through its programs
  • If you are not a member of a religious community, find a selfless community organization that works toward peaceful communities and volunteer
  • Share with children some positive and great tips
  • Even if someone criticizes, never hate them. Neglect them, think that they are doing a good job and helping you to correct your mistakes
  • Choose a career that yields only good things for our families, our communities, and our planet
  • Look people in the eye and smile when you pass them on the street. Better yet, actually say, “Namaskar/Hello etc even though unknown
  • Become trained in mental health first-aid so you can respond to people in mental distress
  • Serve and regard on committees and task forces that work to make your neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces safer
  • Celebrate successes in the quest for peace and nonviolence.
  • Don’t hide from life. Have faith that there is still an abundance of good in this world

Siddha Shanti (Peace) Exercise

It is the best exercise for easily achieving peace in real life. The method is explained below for practicing by every person, whether affected or not:

Zen, Rock Cairn, Rocks, Cairn, Nature
Eternal Peace

Method

Sit in such a position that you must be able to sit comfortably for 15 to 20 minutes having no movements of the body. Keep both the palms in such a position over the forehead for half a minute that eyebrows should be visible.

Then bring both the palms down slowly, as close as to body and touch the ground with flat palms. Now start deep breathing by closing eyes and say in mind ‘Sha’ while inhaling and ‘nti’ while exhaling. This way the ‘Shanti’ word will be completed, which should be said 3 times on each center of the body and it should be imagined that your everything is getting calm, peaceful, enlightened and going towards celestial happiness.

When you experience this, open the eyes slowly. This peace will remain for the whole day. If this ‘Siddha Shanti (Peace) Exercise’ is practiced daily, the life will be filled with peace and ultimate happiness.

Conclusion

So why wait? You need no money, medicine, and even any other person’s help!!! Your life will always be at ease, you will surely be progressing gradually and experiencing a glorious life throughout.

Appeal: Also encourage your family members, friends, relatives etc so that their precious lives also will become glorious and thus everyone in the world will also gradually become glorious. So, don’t wait and waste your precious time, if you want to enjoy the sweet fruit of ‘PEACE’.

So, friends, we shall discuss in my next article about ‘progress’. What is progress and how to solve the problems and clear obstacles on the way of our progress?
