Memory Loss And Siddha Remedies

Memory loss (?????? ???) can be partial or total and it is normal when it comes to aging. Memory loss is the outcome of memory disorders. Sudden memory loss is usually a result of brain trauma and it may be permanent or temporary. Otherwise the condition is temporary. Brain trauma is not the only factor that can cause sudden memory loss. It may appear as a side effect of statin drugs that are used as a treatment for those who have hypercholesterolemia. Major causes of a sudden loss of memory are strokes. Other causes are long-lasting and recurrent illnesses such as meningitis or epilepsy. Siddha Spirituality of Swami Hardas Life System is of the opinion that Diabetes mellitus is also a great contributor to memory loss.

What is Memory loss (?????? ??? ???? ??)

It can be argued that our memories help make us who we are, so what happens when we lose those memories? Memory loss, in general, is the forgetting of information and experiences that a person would normally be able to recall easily. Memory loss is sometimes called amnesia. There are a variety of conditions that can cause either sporadic or degrading memory capabilities. Stress, anxiety, and depression can all significantly affect memory, as can head injuries or stroke.

Memory loss Symptoms (?????? ??? ?? ?????)

The symptoms of memory loss depend from person to person. They usually occur gradually and they may be different in intensity depending on what is causing the condition. From remembering dates and names, going out on errands and forgetting their purpose, or getting easily lost to having difficulties in performing familiar tasks such as driving or baking.

Confusion or decreased alertness may be the first symptom of memory loss and also of a serious illness, particularly in older adults.

The most worrying symptoms are not those related to things that people forget to do. Some patients may have problems in mixing up words for objects or can have trouble understanding or taking part in a conversation. Being unable to make a simple decision can suggest that something is not working as it should and medical advice should be sought.

Memory loss Causes (?????? ??? ?? ????)

Medications (?????)

The most common culprits are pharmaceuticals used for depression, anxiety, sleeping, muscle relaxants, and tranquilizers.

Alcohol or drug use (???? ?? ????? ????? ?? ?????)

Have you ever woken up after a night of too much drinking alcohol and had trouble remembering what happened (assuming you’re over 21)? Alcohol consumption, in addition to drug use, is a common cause of memory loss. These substances alter the brain and affect the formation of memories during their use. Additionally, smoking can restrict blood flow to the brain that affects memory function.

Lack of sleep (???? ?? ???)

Your brain relies on good sleep to rejuvenate itself. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, your brain can’t function properly, meaning it will have trouble forming new memories and retrieving old information.

Depression, anxiety, and stress (?????, ????? ?? ????)

When you are feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed, you also have trouble concentrating. As a result, you notice less of what’s going on around you, and this can prevent the formation of solid memories that can be recalled later.

Improper nutrition (?????? ????)

A well-rounded diet is required for the brain to function well. If you are lacking proteins, fats, or certain vitamins, you may suffer memory problems.

Head injury (??? ?? ???)

A concussion or blow to the head can temporarily feel like it’s knocked your memories right out of you! Injuries can affect both the short- and long-term memory regions of the brain, though sometimes memories come back overtime after the head has a chance to heal.

Stroke (????)

A stroke results from a sudden lack of blood flow to the brain. It’s common for stroke patients to have short-term memory loss, though their long-term memories stay intact.

Dementia (??????)

You may know someone who has experienced dementia, and it can be a heartbreaking condition. With dementia, a person gradually loses their memories, and the disease is irreversible. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia.

Other causes (???? ????)

These can include an irregular thyroid gland, bleeding in the brain, problems with blood flow to certain parts of the brain (different from a stroke), psychological amnesia caused by an emotionally traumatic event, or a brain tumor.

Memory loss Prevention (?????? ??? ?? ??????)

Sudden trauma cannot really be foreseen by anyone so there is no actual way in which one could prevent this condition. However, seen that the most common cause of memory loss are brain traumas, especially those resulting from a head injury, people should take some preventative measures, such as wearing the seat belt while driving or a helmet while biking.

Eating nutritious foods and reducing stress can prevent in some way the symptoms of the condition. Avoiding risk factors such as abusing alcohol or being exposed to toxic chemicals may also help. People that have high blood pressure have an increased risk for strokes and therefore for memory loss. They should try keeping their blood pressure under control and if possible adjust their lifestyle by quitting smoking and exercising more.

Memory Loss Treatment (?????? ??? ?? ?????)

Treatment of amnesia and memory loss include cognitive therapy using speech or language therapist can be of help in patients with mild to moderate memory loss. In many cases mild memory loss may persist. Treatment of underlying medical conditions leading to memory loss.

Memory Loss: Home remedies (?????? ???: ????? ?????)

Brahmi Booti (???????? ????)

Another herb useful in amnesia is Brahmi booti or Bacopa Scrophulariaceae. About seven grams of this herb, dried in the shade and ground in water, along with seven kernels of almonds, and half a gram of pepper, should be strained and sweetened with twenty-five grams of sugar. However, it should be drunk every morning on an empty stomach.

Sage leaves (??? ?? ????????)

Sage is beneficial for a weak memory or loss of memory, which acts on the cortex of the brain, relieves mental exhaustion, and strengthens the ability to concentrate. A tea prepared from dried sage leaves can be used regularly for this purpose.

Almonds (?????)

Almonds are a powerful restorative for poor memory.  They contain unique properties to strengthen the brain.  Almonds preserve the vitality of the brain and cure nervous disorders. Ten to twelve almonds should be immersed in water overnight and their outer skin removed, which should then be made into a fine paste and taken, mixed with one teaspoonful of butter or even alone. Inhaling ten to fifteen drops of almond oil through the nose, morning and evening, is also beneficial in the treatment of memory loss.

Walnuts (?????)

Walnuts are another unique dry fruit valuable in countering memory loss.   About twenty grams of walnuts should be taken every day. The value of walnuts is enhanced if they are taken with figs or raisins in a proportion of ten grams each, every day.

Apples (???)

Apples and other phosphorus-rich fruits such as figs, grapes, oranges, and dates are useful in restoring memory.  Various chemical substances like vitamin B1, phosphorus, and potassium help in the synthesis of glutamic acid. This acid controls the wear and tear of nerve cells. Eating an apple a day with one teaspoon of honey and one cup of milk is beneficial in the treatment of loss of memory and mental irritability. It acts as an effective nerve tonic and recharges the nerves with new energy and life.
