Siddha Sadhana as per Siddha Marg of Swami Hardas Life System, invented by Dr. Swami Hardas, should be your daily spiritual practice. You may start by just setting aside some time each day to practice techniques and activities such as meditation, yoga, mantra chanting, and reading sacred literature. However, if you are sincere in your spiritual journey, your whole life will eventually reflect your Sadhana. It is an ego-transcending spiritual practice. It includes a variety of disciplines in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh traditions that are followed in order to achieve various spiritual or ritual objectives. Sadhana is done for attaining detachment from worldly things, which can be a goal of a Sadhu. Karma yoga, Bhakti yoga, and Jnyan yoga can also be described as Sadhana.
What is Sadhana?
When we say Sadhana, we are not talking about any particular aspect. We are talking about using every aspect of life – both internal and external – so that it is continuous nurturing for your life. Because the very nature of a human being is such, unless there is some dynamism, some movement in his life towards betterment within and outside of himself, he will feel frustrated. He has to keep moving to newer and newer possibilities. Sadhana is that which facilitates that.
Everything can be Sadhana. The way you eat, the way you sit, the way you stand, the way you breathe, the way you conduct your body, mind, and your energies and emotions – this is Sadhana. Sadhana does not mean any specific kind of activity. Sadhana means you are using everything as a tool for your wellbeing.
What is Siddha Sadhana?
There is a misconception that to be spiritual you need to run away from or give up the world. You can certainly do this but for most people, that’s not practical. Remember, we are spiritual beings who are having a human experience so the key is to make this human, material experience an integral part of your spiritual growth.
For achieving anything, if the required resource is brought in proper use, the act gets reflected and the success is achieved in the desired work. This is called ‘Siddha Sadhana’. There is plenty of prevailing Sadhana but many have experienced that prevailing traditional Sadhana does not bring any success in a short period.
Which are the types of Siddha Sadhana?
Siddha Sadhana in the existing era has no restrictions, is simple to practice, and being selfsiddha in totality is experienced immediately. There are three main types of Siddha Sadhana:
- Materialistic Siddha Sadhana (Bhoutik Siddha Sadhana),
- Divine Siddha Sadhana (Daivik Siddha Sadhana), and
- Spiritual Siddha Sadhana (Aadhyatmik Siddha Sadhana).
The above three Sadhana again are categorized in three parts i.e. (1) ‘Satwik Sadhana’, (2) ‘Rajasik Sadhana’, and (3) ’Tamasik Sadhana’ but we shall discuss only Materialistic Siddha Sadhana, Divine Siddha Sadhana, and Aadhyatmik Siddha Sadhana, which fall under the category of Sattvik and Rajasik Sadhana.
Materialistic Siddha Sadhana
We have a ‘Sthool’ body and have to live with it. While living we have to achieve the goal of happiness and ultimate happiness has to be achieved by giving or sharing happiness, peace, satisfaction to self as well as to others.
For that sacrament, purification, work method, life method are quite essential, which are explained below:
Viddhyarthi Jeevan Sadhana (Student Life Sadhana)
‘Siddha Education’ method is the best method in the world. The results achieved are quite surprising. However, its propaganda and amplification are continuously under development.
Aarogya Sadhana
If our body is healthy then life is successful. It is important to consult specialists in this field. However, there are many such health-related issues, which have no treatment in the prevailing methods but Siddha methods have the capacity to solve them. ‘Health is Wealth’ saying is honored in the Siddha method of Swami Hardas Life System.
Kalagun Sadhana
We can achieve the ultimate goal of our life by developing ‘Kalagun’ (artistic qualities) of the required fields. Hence right guidance, the right work method, and strong desire are of utmost importance.
This sadhana can further be categorized as:
Purush Jeevan Sadhana (Men Life Sadhana)
The qualities like Tej and Sacrifice are special in men. It is ‘Pitrushakti’ (power of father) and for men ‘Purush Jeevan Sadhana’ should be with these intentions.
Stree Jeevan Sadhana (Woman Life Sadhana)
Qualities like Forgiveness and Love are special in women. It is ‘Matrushakti’ (power of mother) and for women ‘Stree Jeevan Sadhana’ should be with these intentions.
Dhey Sadhana (Goal Sadhana)
Dhey means goal, which should be determined on consultation with the specialists of the field. The goal should be decided depending on the factors like our ability, our family, our society, and the surrounding situation. Then decide our Jeevan Method and Work Method accordingly so that success is achieved.
Divine Siddha Sadhana
Even if destiny is powerful, the grace of our Sadhana Shakti depends on the powers of our destiny. Destiny can be changed, which has been proved with the unique methods of Siddha Marg. Hence, it is necessary to honestly perform ‘Kalyan Vidhi’, ‘Siddha Vishesh Vidhi with Homa’, ‘Siddha Pooja’, Birth Day celebration with Siddha Methods, use Siddha Products, read Siddha Gurukrupamrut Pothi as per procedures.
More details regarding ‘Kalyan Vidhi’, ‘Dosh Badha Shodhak Homa’ and ‘Manokamna Vidhi with Homa’, etc., Siddha Mandir, Pune can be contacted.
Spiritual Siddha Sadhana
Aadhyatm means the study of the Soul, Atma darshana, Aatm sakshatkar, etc, which is feasible with the pious Siddha methods.
Siddha Marg is the only way, which can give immediate darshana of God. This special program of Spiritual Siddha Sadhana is conducted in Siddha Mandir, Pune. Participants of this unique program get peace and almost 90% of devotees get darshana of their personal Gods on the spot.
Siddha Sadhana: Manas Pooja
If the cart of our life runs with the grace of His Almighty, then it is full of satisfaction, happiness peace, etc. Keeping these intentions at the highest level, Siddha Manas Pooja has been created which is most important and gives success immediately. Many have experienced this. This Sadhana is practiced with three steps, as explained:
- Shavasana,
- Pronouncing Om, and
- Manas Pooja.
The time of performing this Siddha Manas Pooja is especially before going to sleep or whenever the time is available.
First step: Shavasana
Firstly, spread carpet or bed sheet on the plain ground/floor and lie down straight on the back. Give a support of a thin soft pillow under the head. Make both the legs apart; the distance between them must be one to one and a half feet. Hands should be by the side of the body, palm, toes, and head pointing towards the roof or sky.
Secondly, start deep breathing like it is done while sleeping. Maintain deep breathing.
Thirdly, concentrate and gather your complete energy imaginary, which is to be placed in between both the eyebrows. This will control and help the body to be in a condition like a dead body. This is called Shavasana, the first step of Siddha Manas Pooja.
Second step: Pronouncing Om
After attaining to Shavasana, start reciting Om while deep breathing. The ‘O’ should be uttered at long length while exhaling with making a shape of your mouth like a pot having a narrow mouth and while inhaling ‘M’ should be completed by shutting the mouth.
Both these actions will be performed slowly and at a long length. The waves created while uttering Om are called Alfa Waves. This action should be repeated a number of times with a break for a while. This performance is called pronouncing of Om, the second step of Siddha Manas Pooja.
This should be performed peacefully, with concentration, with no tension on the body, and in a natural way. However, the third step of Siddha Manas Pooja should be performed with the continuous pronunciation of Om.
Third step: Manas Pooja
While performing the second step, the live image of your loving God should be placed in your mind. The Jap of mantra i.e. Om should be addressed to Him. By listening to your Mantra, imagine that your personal God is blessing you with a smiling face, perform Pooja with the way you normally do, surrender Him and say, “I am your illiterate child, care me with all intentions, apologize Him for the mistakes if committed any, narrate your all sorrows – happiness, ask for ‘drishtanth’ and recite Siddha or any other prayer at the end.
If this Siddha Manas Pooja is performed with the imagination that you have kept your head on His lap while going to bed and fell asleep before completing it, there should not be any reason to worry because you have slept in His attachment. This kind of sleep is one kind of ‘Samadhi’ i.e. attachment. This way, Siddha Manas Pooja can be performed in bed, which can be performed in a sitting position after a few days’ practice.
Benefits of Siddha Sadhana: Manas Pooja
This is the most important Sadhana, which gives the following benefits:
(a) Tension of the body, the mind is removed and physical and psychological health is achieved. People suffering from anxiety, stress, depression, unknown fear, etc should regularly practice this Sadhana.
(b) Pranshakti (Life Energy) is collected and stored for well-being.
(c) Aatmashakti (Self Energy) is developed and utilized for better performance.
(d) Concentration is increased and the mind can be controlled, which helps in right decision making.
(e) Our God gets satisfied, who cares for us from all the way, the expected/unexpected obstacles are avoided, drishtanth is experienced during sleep and we get the required guidance time to time, which can be put into action. Such dreams should not be considered normal dreams.
This way, this Siddha Manas Pooja being complete, and selfsiddha; creates Sattvik liking in our life, gives mental peace and cares all the way.
Siddha Sadhana: Siddha Nam Sadhana/Nam Bhakti
‘Nam’ means the name of God, which should be established in the mind for its greatest advantages, which is the easiest way of ‘aatmakalyan’ i.e. self-favour. There is ‘abhanga’ (spiritual poem) written by great Saint Tukaram Maharaj, well known in Maharashtra. The abhanga states, “If there is a Nam in mouth, there is a Moksha, which has been experienced by many. Carry on saying ‘Hari Nam’, there is no limit to ‘Punya’ gained”.
How to practice Nam Sadhana/Nam Bhakti?
Nam Bhakti (Nam Devotion) is very simple, there is no restriction of caste, it is not dependent, and is sacred. The method of performing ‘Nam Sadhana’ or ‘Nam Bhakti’ is as follows:
- To be performed even while walking, sitting, doing work, all the time.
- The most important is that God’s presence with emotion, imagination, and faith should be felt in our mind while reciting His Jap all the time.
- Whenever possible, with the eyes half or fully closed, God’s presence should be felt in mind and Siddha Manas Pooja to be performed.
- Reveal everything to Him about the happenings of life.
- It is most important to keep reciting His name, Mantra, or praise.
Importance factors of Nam Sadhana/Nam Bhakti
To maintain continuity in Nam Sadhana, we have to maintain our best efforts and study. The smallest factors, as mentioned below, are of utmost importance:
- Always keep Jap Mala (Mala containing 27 small bits) in the pocket.
- Nam Jap may be matched with the steps while walking.
- If at all music is listened to, Nam Jap can also be practiced.
- Nam Jap may be matched with breathing while inhaling and exhaling.
- Either way, Nam Jap can be matched by concentrating on heart bits.
- Nam Jap may be written while reciting, whenever it is possible. A number of Nam Jap written may be accounted for.
- Reading of Holy Granthas should be in practice.
- It is equally important to have ‘Satsangati’ (best-suited friends).
- Observing fast, having regular darshana of God, etc are also important.
Nam Sadhana, Nam Bhakti, Nam Jap is the best way in this ‘Kali Yuga’ (Kali Era).
Siddha Sadhana: Siddha Nyas
Siddha Nyas is quite effective and beneficial ‘Nyas’ (trust). The problems like physical diseases, mental disorders, eating disorders, binge eating disorders, anxiety, loss of memory, bad dreams, disturbed sleep, hypertension, lack of concentration, unknown fear, etc are effectively solved. Before we know how to do it, we need to know about the following 36 points of our body:
SL NO | Name of Limb | Qty | SL NO | Name of Limb | Qty |
1 | Toe | 2 | 2 | Heel | 2 |
3 | Vein of legs | 2 | 4 | Knee | 2 |
5 | Thigh | 2 | 6 | Joint of upper legs | 2 |
7 | Sexual organ | 1 | 8 | Naval | 1 |
9 | Chest | 1 | 10 | Palm | 2 |
11 | Knickle | 2 | 12 | Forehand | 2 |
13 | Elbo | 2 | 14 | Arm | 2 |
15 | Shoulder | 2 | 16 | Neck | 1 |
17 | Mouth | 1 | 18 | Ear | 2 |
19 | Eye | 2 | 20 | Nose | 1 |
21 | Agya Chakra | 1 | 22 | Centre of the upper head | 1 |
These are 36 points of the body, which are easily identified on seeing our body and can be easily remembered. In addition to the above, if there is any such point, which has pain or trouble, the same can also be included in the sequence of the above.
How to practice Siddha Nyas
First Step
Spread carpet or bed sheet on the floor, sleep on the back keeping the whole body tensionless. Repeat 1st and 2nd steps of Siddha Manas Pooja as explained earlier about 7 to 8 times by which physical, as well as psychological peace, is gained.
Second Step
Remember Eist Devta and recite His Jap slowly and peacefully minimum of 5 minutes.
Third Step
Now, concentrate your mind on each point of your body starting from Toe. Recite Jap 3 times on each point in sequence i.e. from ‘Toe’ to ‘Center of the head’. In case there is any such point, which is affected with pain or trouble, the Jap should be recited at that point 7 to 8 times and to be ended at the last point.
This way, after finishing the first round, repeat it a second and third time. Sometimes, you may fall asleep but there is no need to worry. This sleep is good since it is considered as ‘Samadhi’.
Benefits of Siddha Nyas
This Siddha Nyas may be performed at the end of Manas Pooja. The following benefits are achieved by performing Siddha Nyas:
- The points where you concentrate and recite Jap, they receive Pran Shakti. So the points will become free from the disease and strengthen.
- During the Jap, most of the time you will fall asleep. It is considered ‘Samadhi’ (deep and devout meditation) and hence ‘drishtanth’ (an illustration) will be experienced, which will help solve most of the problems.
- The disease of sleeplessness will be removed and peaceful sleep will be achieved.
- After a few days’ practice of Siddha Nyas, eyes and face will glow.
This Sadhana is very much effective because while performing it, ‘Sthool Mana’ (Gross Mind) is towards the points of the body and ‘Sukshma Mana’ is concentrated on reciting God’s Jap. This way, maximum benefits can be achieved effectively from the Siddha Nyas, which is easy to practice, and hence everyone should perform it regularly.
Siddha Sadhana: Siddha Shanti Sadhana
It is the best Siddha Sadhana for easily achieving peace in real life. The method is explained below:

Keep both the palms in such a position over the forehead for half a minute that eyebrows should be visible. Then bring both the palms down slowly, as close as to the body, and touch the ground with flat palms. Now start deep breathing by closing eyes and saying in mind ‘Sha’ while inhaling and ‘nti’ while exhaling. This way the ‘Shanti’ word will be completed, which should be said 3 times on each center of the body and it should be imagined that your everything is getting calm, peaceful, enlightened, and going towards celestial happiness.
When you experience this, open your eyes slowly. This peace will remain for the whole day. If this Siddha Shanti Sadhana is done daily, life will be filled with enlightenment with peace and ultimate happiness.

Amazing benefits of Siddha Sadhana
As we begin to experience the benefits of doing Siddha Sadhana, we will fall in love with God but that will take time. Life will become smoother. Not that one will be freed from all troubles, or miseries because that never happens in this impermanent place of miseries. The amazing benefits include:
- Most importantly, one will begin to enjoy life in various ways.
- We can choose our posture, sitting down or even lying down. The idea is to be able to do Siddha Sadhana not how, because being able to do regular Siddha Sadhana qualifies us for God’s grace.
- I begin with the great benefit of being free from negative energies, and emotions. Of course, this happens gradually only but one can never underestimate this boon.
- One is freed from debilitating fears related to one’s body, near and dear ones, material possessions, etc. One can sleep better as anxiety will not affect that much. Living in the material world in material bodies.
- The mental faculty of Siddha Sadhana practitioners remains sound till the end of life. What a boon this is when mental health is becoming a very serious problem worldwide.
- One realizes spiritual truths. Personally, I have been very fortunate in this regard.
- We learn about what we need to do to get all that God has to offer like guidance, help, Shakti/Bala, security, health, peace, progress, happiness, support, etc. All we need to do is take God’s shelter in all respects.
- Connected with God, physical health becomes a beneficiary, because one comes under Lord’s care. Even family members, i.e. the near and dear ones, get the ripple effect.
- One tolerates better. Remember no one is exempt from suffering.
- If someone comes to God-consciousness, somehow, anyhow, God will give the strength to be able to continue to do so.
- Steady Siddha Sadhana will ensure everything positive. I can vouch for it. Faith will become stronger steadily.
Some Sadhana as per other Religion
Traditionally in some Hindu and Buddhist traditions in order to embark on a specific path of Sadhana, a guru may be required to give the necessary instructions. This approach is typified by some Tantric traditions, in which initiation by a guru is sometimes identified as a specific stage of Sadhana. On the other hand, individuals renunciates may develop their own spiritual practice without participating in organized groups.
Tantric Sadhana
Some of the well-known Tantric Sadhana are:
- Sava Sadhana (Sadhana done while visualizing sitting on a corpse).
- Smashana Sadhana (Sadhana done while visualizing being in a crematorium or cremation ground).
- Pancha-Munda Sadhana (Sadhana done while visualizing sitting on a seat of five skulls).
Buddhism
In Vajrayana Buddhism and the Nalanda tradition, there are fifteen major tantric Sadhana:
- Surangama/Sitatapatra
- Nilakantha
- Tara
- Mahakala
- Hayagrava
- Amitabha
- Bhaidajyaguru/Akrobhya
- Guhyasamaja
- Vajrayogini/Vajravaraha
- Heruka/Cakrasarvara
- Yamantaka
- Kalacakra
- Hevajra
- Chod
- Vajrapani
- Avalokitesvara
Not within this list but a central Sadhana in Vajrayana is that of Vajrasattva. All of these are available in Tibetan form, many are available in Chinese and some are still extant in ancient Sanskrit manuscripts.
