A siddha mantra is a self-siddha. All siddha mantras have a syntactic structure and literal meaning, while other traditional do not. The earliest siddha mantras were composed in Vedic Sanskrit in India, and are at least 3500 years old. The use, structure, function, importance, and effect of siddha mantras vary according to the philosophy of Dr. Swami Hardas, an inventor of the Swami Hardas Life System.
Meaning of the mantra
There is a long history of scholarly disagreement on the meaning of mantras and whether they are instruments of mind, as implied by the etymological origin of the word mantra. One school suggests mantras are mostly meaningless sound constructs, while the other holds them to be the most meaningful linguistic instruments of mind. Both schools agree that mantras have melody and a well-designed mathematical precision in their construction and that their influence on the reciter and listener is similar to that is observed in people around the world listening to their beloved music that is devoid of words.
Types of mantra
There are four main types of mantras:
- Bija (seed),
- Saguna (with form),
- Nirguna (without form), and
- Siddha mantra.
Bija mantra
The Bija mantras can be used individually, but are most often incorporated into Saguna mantras to invest them with a special “seed” power. The Bija mantras correlate to the 7 chakras and to the main Hindu deities.
Saguna mantra
The Saguna mantras invoke the forms of the individual deities or personalized aspects of God. It is said that the recitation of the Saguna mantras gives rise to the actual form of the particular deity, thus manifesting its power.
Nirguna mantra
The Nirguna mantras originate from the Vedic texts and are thus the oldest mantras of the four types. As no deities or personalized aspects of God are invoked with these mantras, they are very difficult to interpret and are considered to not have a specific form or meaning to them. These mantras are said to have their identification with all the creation and contain the fundamental truths in yogic philosophy. It is said that the mind must be very strong to be able to concentrate on the abstract Nirguna mantras, and thus they are not recommended for beginning students.
Siddha mantra
Siddha mantra can be chanted by any person irrespective of caste, creed, age, sex, and faith. There are no restrictions of any type e.g. food, clothes, asana, location, or a specific time. Since the siddha mantras have already gone through a unique siddha process, they have been made self siddha by none other than Dr. Swami Hardas, who had performed rigorous penance and blessed by Lord Siddheshwar and Siddha Gorakshanath. Hence, the siddha mantra can be chanted anytime, anywhere, and in any position i.e. while sitting, lying down, traveling, working, cooking, sleeping, and etc.
Types of Siddha mantra
There are four types of Siddha mantra, which include:
- Siddha mantra
- Swayamsiddha mantra
- Celestial Siddha mantra
- Panchsiddha mantra

Dr. Swami Hardas is an inventor of Siddha mantras for the welfare of all including the common people. These Siddha mantras are easy to use and are purely for our welfare because they have been made Siddha with the blessings of Siddhas. For achieving the best and fast results, these Siddha mantras are required to be supported with the following performances:

It is said that the traditional mantra is recited at least 8,88,88,888 times with certain rules, conditions, and particular ways to get desired results. However, the desired siddha mantra may be recited at one place at least 108 to 324 times and the remaining can be recited while walking, standing, exercising, working, cooking, or doing any other work.

- Spiritual development,
- For the attainment of Ananda and Atmananda,

- For performing Homa-Havana, Sadhana, Meditation, and
- For the attainment of worldly Sattvic desires.
When combined with the user’s intention, siddha mantras can become even more targeted and empowered.
Siddha mantra shastra
Mantra shastra
The ‘Mantra Shastra’ is an interesting, beautiful, favorable, and independent science. It is a beautiful combination, co-ordination of emotional and sound waves. There are lots of restrictions in prevailing ‘Mantra Shastra’ e.g. Asana, Direction, Jap Mala, Time, Period, and many more. These are acceptable to those who are scholars of Mantra Shastra but what about common families? Is it possible for them to adhere to the restrictions?
Siddha mantra shastra
Siddha Shastra is by, for, and of common people and hence it has no restrictions. The siddha mantras are ‘Siddha’ and hence have no restrictions. Mantra can be recited while walking, standing, sitting, exercising, working, and all the time.
Method of reciting of Siddha mantra
If the counting of the mantra is necessary, recite the mantra for 10 minutes observing the clock/watch with the help of ‘Siddha Japa Mala’. Accordingly, recite it while cooking, gardening, walking, moving, working, and account for after subtracting 20% of the recited mantra.
Normally there is a method of reciting 125,000. The same siddha mantra is possible to recite in Homa-Havana performed with the Siddha method. A very good smell comes from the Homa-Havana, which is a clear indication of the completion of the process.
While chanting the siddha mantra, Assume imaginery that the deity is blessing you. Repeat Sattvic Manokamana (good desire) in between 3-3 times.
Invoking a mantra
Almost for every mantra, there are six limbs called Shadanga. These six limbs are:
- Seer (Rishi),
- Deity (Devata),
- Seed (Beeja),
- Energy (Shakti),
- Master (Chanda), and
- Kilaka (Lock).
Examples
The most basic mantra is Om, which in Hinduism is known as the “Pranava mantra”, the source of all mantras. While some mantras may invoke individual Gods or principles, fundamental mantras, like the ‘Shanti mantra, the ‘Gayatri mantra’ and others all ultimately focus on the One reality.
What is Siddha Mantra Japa Mala
Siddha Mantra Japa is a practice of repetitively uttering the same mantra for an auspicious number of times, the most popular being 108, and sometimes just 5, 11, 27, or 1008. Japa is found in personal prayer or meditative efforts of some Hindus, as well as during formal puja (group prayers). Sometimes referred to as the ‘Meru’, or ‘Guru’ bead. The devotee uses his/her fingers to count each bead as he/she repeats the chosen siddha mantra. After reaching 108 repetitions, the devotee turns the Japa mala around without crossing the head bead and repeats the cycle for another mantra.
According to this school, any shloka from holy Hindu texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutra, even the Mahabharata, Ramayana, Durga saptashati, or Chandi is a mantra, thus can be part of the Japa, repeated to achieve a luminous effect.

Siddha Mantra Meditation
A Siddha mantra is a syllable, word, or phrase that is repeated during meditation. Siddha Mantras can be spoken, chanted, whispered, or repeated in the mind. Most Siddha mantra meditation techniques have two essential components:
- Mindfulness meditation, and
- Siddha Mantra recitation or chanting.
While this age-old practice is known to have Buddhist and Hindu roots, forms of “sacred word” recitation exist within a great variety of spiritual traditions, including Judeo-Christian and Shamanic. Nowadays, Siddha mantra practice is also gaining popularity as part of secular mindfulness practice.
How to do Siddha mantra meditation
Find the best mantras to suit your purpose
Before you start, ask yourself why and how meditation techniques appeal to you. Do you want to maintain or regain your health? Are you plagued by distractions? Are you looking to forge a deeper spiritual connection? (Refer to the Siddha mantra and purpose in the above tables).
Some people find that using mantras during their meditation practice helps them relax in a positive, sustainable way. This sense of well-being can lead to lower blood pressure and reduce stress and anxiety. In this case, Siddha mantra meditation is a form of mindfulness practice where the repetition of a word or phrase helps settle the mind.
Get comfortable and remember your purpose
As with any other form of practice, you’ll enjoy Siddha mantra meditation more if you have a comfortable seat! Look for a quiet space and avoid bright light and sensory overstimulation so you can concentrate on your Siddha mantra meditation without too many disturbances.
Try to remember your purpose as you defined it in the previous point. This could range from “May my practice help me overcome destructive personal habits,” to “May my practice help me be more patient,” “May my practice connect me with the divine,” “May my practice lead to spiritual awakening,” or any other goal you’ve identified for yourself.
Correctly focus on your breathing
Sit in your usual position for mindfulness meditation. Spend some time checking in. Notice where tension or resistance may have crystalized in your body and gently let it go. Pay attention to the breath. This will help settle the mind before you start your Siddha mantra recitation or chanting practice.
Chant your Siddha mantra
Now it’s time to recite or chant your Siddha mantra. Go with the flow. You can also just focus on the sound of the Siddha mantra itself.
You can continue for as long as you’d like. There’s no need to put pressure on your mind or body – relax into the joy of the practice! Siddha Mantras give your mind a buoyant anchor to hold onto when waves of thoughts or emotions threaten to wash your meditation away. People who regularly do this kind of practice say that meditation becomes second nature and is something they look forward to at the beginning or end of their day.
